Senior Associate Director
Chief Financial Officer: Business and Financial Services
With over 20 years at UC San Diego, Larry has consistently demonstrated dedication to excellence, inclusion, and community support. He manages the cashier team at BFS and oversees the Passport Office under RRSS, excelling in both roles. He has even volunteered his weekends to help Mail Services during their busiest periods. Overall, Larry is known as a thoughtful and compassionate leader whose uplifting attitude boosts morale and fosters a sense of belonging.
Financial Services Analyst
Chief Financial Officer: Supply Chain Services
Heather is recognized for her exceptional ability to build strong relationships, foster collaboration, and support the success of others. Originally hired for an accounting project, her role expanded across multiple areas, and she soon became a trusted expert in accounts payable, supplier management, and policy.
In Disbursements, Heather handles complex tasks that go beyond standard roles, assisting colleagues and ensuring smooth cross-functional efforts. Her team-first approach was crucial to the RRSS restructuring: she took on additional responsibilities and supported new team members through training and coverage. She also played a key role in implementing the Financial Support Payments Tool, providing technical support and connecting teams with experts, which was vital for the project's success.
Associate Director of Residential Life
Chief Financial Officer: HDH Undergrad Housing
In her first year as Associate Director of Residential Life Operations, Federica "Fede" demonstrated innovative and inspiring leadership, turning ambiguity into opportunity while establishing structure for the new Pepper Canyon West. She formalized key operational processes with new software, ensuring consistency and growth. She designed and executed the Move-In process, hired and trained staff, established procedures, and set the tone for the year.
She restructured the Residential Community Organizers program to boost student engagement, launched Triton Transfer Days with campus partners, and expanded overall outreach. Fede advocates for her team, promotes equity, and enhances morale and professional development.
Compliance Specialist
Chief Financial Officer: Supply Chain Services
Jasmine Montilla was nominated for her outstanding achievements in innovation, leadership, support of university practices, community service, and inclusive excellence. As a compliance specialist, her proactive efforts protect the university from liability, preventing costly legal actions. This year, she led a team in developing a system improvement for Oracle, saving hundreds of hours for campus professional buyers. She initiated projects like the 2024 Contractual Signature Project with OSI to reduce risk and liability. Her thorough contract reviews and updates to Knowledge Base Articles improve departmental guidance, making them more helpful.
Jasmine regularly mentors and trains students, with past mentees returning to share their successes. She is also an active volunteer, including working at commencements and the Sun God festival; a founding member of the IPPS EDI Committee; and treasurer-elect of the Black Staff Association.
