The end of the school year is fast approaching and we would like to ensure that you are aware of the large sporting event taking place in San Diego this June. The US Open is one of the largest annual golf tournaments in the country and is set to be hosted by the Torrey Pines Golf Course from June 9 through June 15. The golf course is located directly across from the UC San Diego campus on North Torrey Pines Road. USGA representatives expect 50,000 spectators and volunteers to attend the event daily, significantly affecting the roads surrounding the campus. Although the USGA is assuring minimal disturbance to the campus itself, we recognize that your student’s move out of on-campus housing from June 8 through June 14 (by 6 pm) will be impacted. The San Diego County Fair is also opening on Saturday June 14 and will greatly affect the 5 freeway.

Parents were sent an updated email on May 28, 2008. On-campus residents have been sent two emails. The first email went out on May 28, 2008. The second email had instructions on the Move-Out Parking Entry Pass including the link where students can log in and select their intended move-out day and send the Move-Out Parking Entry Pass via email to two (2) people.
