Neighborhood & Housing
Located on the west side of campus within walking distance of the beach, Muir residential housing surrounds a grassy quad where students can study, play frisbee, or socialize. First-year students are generally housed in Tenaya and Tioga high-rise residence halls featuring suites of primarily triple rooms and some singles.
Opposite the Housing complex are Pines and Roots restaurants, Redwood Lounge, a small coffee shop, and a convenience store. The Mandeville Center for the Performing Arts, a pool, gymnasium, recreation fields and volleyball, basketball and tennis courts are nearby, making it possible to live a rich and varied life within a small area and maintain a strong community spirit.
