About La Jolla
UC San Diego is located on the cliffs of La Jolla, Spanish for "The Jewel". La Jolla offers wonderful beaches, cultural activities, and fine restaurants. It also boasts some of the most epic surf spots in Southern California. Downtown San Diego is just 15 minutes away.
San Diego is California's second largest city. Where blue skies keep watch on 70 miles of beaches and a gentle Mediterranean climate begs for a day of everything and nothing. Bordered by Mexico, the Pacific Ocean, the Anza-Borrego Desert, and the Laguna Mountains, San Diego county's 4,200 square miles offer immense options and activities for any taste!
San Diego enjoys beautiful weather year-round with an average daily temperature of 70.5º (21.4 degrees Celsius). A marked feature of the climate is the wide variation in temperature within short distances due to the topography of the land. You can enjoy coastal, mountain, and desert environments all in the space of one day.
UC San Diego is accessed by Interstate 5 at La Jolla Village Drive.

Triple rooms are appropriately furnished with a bed and desk for each student; however, configuration varies by college and facility. Triple spaces are available at all six college, however, furniture configuration varies by college and facility. To request a triple space, select this option when completing the Housing contract process in June.
Undergraduate Couples with or without Dependents
New undergraduate students who are couples and/or have dependents and who meet all deadlines, are guaranteed accommodation at Mesa Residential Apartments. Eligibility is determined by Housing and Dining Administrative Services.

UC San Diego International House
International House is home to about 240 students from more than thirty countries. The I-House community provides a social atmosphere where opportunities for significant cross-cultural exchange between American and international students is plentiful. International learning is fostered through formal programs including current affairs discussions, cultural nights, and a community newsletter. Upper-division undergraduates from all six colleges, graduate students, faculty, and researchers are eligible to live in International House, located in the Eleanor Roosevelt College townhouses. Demand is very high for this special program and there is a waitlist each quarter. Spaces in International House are not guaranteed and admission requires a separate application. UC San Diego Commuter Services and Off-Campus Housing offers rental referral and Housing information resource center with listings of apartment, house, and condominium rentals, available in a variety of areas around campus and the San Diego community. Roommates, room rentals, and work exchange are listed online and in the office. The Off-Campus Housing Office is an excellent resource for waitlisted students.
The Golden Triangle, University City, and La Jolla communities of San Diego are adjacent to campus and the areas of Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, Clairemont Mesa, Carmel Valley, and Del Mar are nearby. Rental costs vary according to location, size, demand, utilities, amenities, time of year, and the number of people sharing a unit.
