Why Buy Up to a more inclusive Dining Plan?

Select a Dining Plan Buy Up option and the additional charge will be conveniently incorporated into your Housing Contract Installment Plan. The Buy Up option allows you to budget for the possibility of running out of Dining Dollars towards the end of the school year.

Choose one of three Buy Up options:

• Plan 1: The ResHall Minimum Plan has $2795 Dining Dollars. Buy Up to a Full Meal Plan ($3255) and $460 worth of Dining Dollars will be incorporated into the Contract installment plan you have selected.
• Plan 2: The Apartment Minimum Plan has $2145 Dining Dollars. Buy Up to a ResHall Minimum Plan ($2795) and $650 worth of Dollars will be incorporated into the Contract installment plan you have selected.
• Plan 3: The Apartment Minimum Plan has $2145 Dining Dollars. Buy Up to a Full Meal Plan ($3255) and $1,110 worth of Dining Dollars will be incorporated into the Contract installment plan you have selected.

Dining Dollar Plans * Daily Rate Breakdown

$2145 plan = $9.00 per day
$2795 plan = $11.75 per day
$3255 plan = $13.70 per day

* Resident is not limited to daily rate usage. Buy Up Plans are permanent and cannot be changed during the academic year.

PLEASE NOTE: The Buy Up plan will only be available through September 11 at 4 pm. When you view your online room assignment, look for the Buy Up button. After completing your purchase, a confirmation email will be sent to your UCSD email account.
