Graduate, Professional, and Undergraduate Students with Children
UC San Diego, Associated Residential Community Housing (ARCH) offers priority housing at the Mesa Residential Apartments to eligible graduate, professional, and undergraduate students who reside with dependent minor child(ren) (defined as minor, 18 and under) or are expecting a child. Students with children are eligible to reside at Coast, One Miramar Street, and the Rita Atkinson Residences. Parents must provide valid birth certificates for each child, or if applicable, court documents granting the resident at least 50% physical custody may also be required. To be eligible for family or single parent status to receive family priority, child(ren) must be a dependent minor, (defined as minor, 18 and under) and reside in the apartment as of the rental agreement start date. If the student's partner is pregnant, the partner must also reside in the apartment as of the rental agreement start date to receive family priority. In addition, medical documentation of pregnancy must be submitted. Students with child(ren) may add additional residents to the rental agreement at anytime. It is intended that these communities be your primary residence.
Students who are currently enrolled, have formally accepted the UC San Diego Offer of Admission, or have submitted their intent to matriculate may apply. Students are not eligible for housing if they are working toward their second Bachelor’s degree, second Masters’ degree, post-doctorate degree, or in the Extension or Limited Status programs. Residents must maintain full-time status, enrolled in at least twelve units each academic quarter, in courses leading to a degree granted by UC San Diego.
Falsification of any information regarding dependent eligibility will result in termination of housing. Parents agree to notify the Housing Office of any change in the status of the custody. Parents must maintain at least 50% physical custody to remain eligible for family priority.
